Three Branches, One Legacy
Vazhakkad is a land blessed by divine grace and a Panchayat with a remarkable place in Kerala's history. It gave birth to countless scholars and political leaders who have shone in the religious and political spheres of India. The region is renowned for D.U.A College, one of Kerala's earliest educational institutions, and was the birthplace of Kanniyath Ahmad Musliyar, one of the greatest Islamic scholars Kerala has ever produced.
Here lies the origin of the Maliyakkal Puliyathingal family and its associated branches: Maliyakkal Poovadichalil and Maliyakkal Srambiyakkal. Mr. Sultan Hajji (late), the beloved elder of our family, established this residence. He served as supervisor at Koyappathody Estates. His son, Mr. Abdu Rahiman, later renovated and expanded the house, establishing it as the family's primary residence.

Second Generation
Maliyakkal Poovadichalil stands adjacent to the main Puliyathingal residence and represents one important branch of the Maliyakkal family. This branch originates from Sultan Hajji (late), the second beloved son of Maliyakkal Mohammed Haji (late). He was an accomplished businessman and contractor for Mavoor Grasim Industries Ltd, and served with distinction as the first President of Masjid Rahaman Vazhakkad, playing a crucial role in the community's religious and social development.
The house underwent comprehensive renovation in 2015, bringing it to modern standards while preserving its historical charm. Currently, the residence is home to his widow Fathimakutty Erakodan, their son Mr. Mustafa, and his extended family, who continue to uphold the family's proud traditions.

Maliyakkal Srambiyakkal is situated in the scenic region between Kalpally and Mundumuzhi within Vazhakkad Panchayat, in close proximity to the historic Vazhakkad Tile factory. This residence was home to Mr. Husain Hajji, the eldest and most revered son of Sultan Hajji, who lived here with his family for many decades, becoming a pillar of wisdom and tradition for the entire clan.
In 1987, during the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj to Makkah, Mr. Husain Hajji passed away in the holy landβa moment both tragic and spiritually significant for the family. His legacy continues through his devoted widow, Ayishakutty, their son Mr. Salam Hajji, and his family, who reside here and carry forward the spiritual and cultural heritage he established.
